Protecting Plants and Lawns from Early Frost

Colorado’s fall weather can change overnight — and a sudden frost can damage your plants and lawn if you’re not prepared. Start by covering sensitive plants with breathable fabric when nighttime temperatures drop below freezing. Water your lawn and shrubs during dry, sunny days; hydrated soil retains more heat, helping roots survive the cold.
